Patricia Apollonia Kotero was an American model and singer. Kotero was also co-starring with Prince in his 1984 film, Purple Rain. She was the main female vocalist in Apollonia 6 and co-starred in Prince's film Purple Rain from 1984. In the 80s, the singer-actress Prince named Apollonia to be one of many female musicians that gained by their connection with him. Patricia Kotero began her acting and modeling career in Santa Monica California, in the latter half of the '70s. This included an appearance on CHiPS. The lead female character in Prince's Purple Rain was her first part that she played in the year 1984. Prince changed the girl's name at this point. She replaced Vanity by the female group Vanity 6 who performed in the film in the role of Apollonia 6 replacing Vanity. Sex Shooter, a minor hit song that was featured on the soundtrack, was her greatest chart hit. Kotero ended her relationship with Prince following a falling out over the future of Apollonia 6. Kotero went on to be featured in various minor roles throughout the period (reportedly declining to appear as a character in her Purple Rain follow-up Under the Cherry Moon) before landing an appearance on the evening-time show Falcon Crest during 1985-1986. Apollonia began her professional debut in 1988. But the R&B/dance album it was a bit stale and failed to leave a lasting impression on the music buyers of the at the time, soon vanished. The following decade saw Apollonia continued to perform in the field of acting (if she was a bit under the radar) as well as a couple of television roles, films as well as an exercise video.
